They come off so easy, you'll be surprised they stayed on!

You’ve finally come to the end of your orthodontics treatment and now you’re wondering… “how are braces removed?”. This short video and blog explains just how we take your brace off.

How are braces removed?

The first thing to do is to fit bonded retainers to the back of the front 4 teeth on your top and bottom arches. Your tooth’s surface is cleaned with a blue etchant. This ensures a strong and stable bond between your tooth and the glue.

Next, the elastics are removed to release the brace wire.

A special debond removal tool ‘clicks’ and debonds the bracket from your tooth.

Finally, a fine polishing bur is used to remove any residue glue, leaving a smooth tooth surface.
